ARTBULANCE 2.0

ART AS ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE IN A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Since 2019, the Artbulance project has been traveling across Denmark and many other European countries with a simple yet powerful idea: bringing art, performance, and cultural encounters directly to people.

Artbulance is a mobile mini-theatre and cinema that creates intimate artistic experiences inside while simultaneously bringing music, joy, and creative energy into public spaces. Through performances, cultural interventions, and participatory activities, it creates new encounters between people from diverse backgrounds.

TRAVELING FESTIVAL IN BERLIN 2026

In September 2026, Artbulance 2.0 will arrive in Berlin with an international traveling festival dedicated to culture, mental well-being, and the question of how art can support processes of social healing.

At numerous public locations throughout the city, artistic interventions, performances, and interactive formats will bring people together, inspire creativity, and strengthen community engagement. The project understands art as a form of “alternative medicine” — a way to overcome social isolation, stimulate imagination, and revive human connection.

ART, ENCOUNTER AND SOCIAL PARTICIPATION

Through performances, workshops, and interactive experiences, Artbulance 2.0 continues its mission:
to reduce social isolation, activate communities, and highlight art as a vital force for healing, togetherness, and social transformation.

Alongside the activities of the project lead DET FLYVENDE THEATER in Denmark, the initiative continues to grow on local and regional levels through collaborations with international partners such as:

Together, the partners are developing artistic interventions specifically adapted to educational and healthcare contexts in their respective countries. In addition, a new experimental performance production will be created in collaboration with all partner organizations.

Between 2026 and 2028, Artbulance 2.0 will serve as the framework for a new international Creative Europe cooperation project. At its core is the collaboration between three countries and their cultural initiatives.

Together, the partners explore new ways in which mobile artistic formats can encourage social participation, strengthen mental health, and build sustainable cultural networks across Europe.

Artbulance 2.0 invites people of all generations not only to experience art, but to shape it together — openly, mobile, and directly within public space.
